I just purchased an MJF 1724B mag mount antenna to use with my yaesu VX7R. Is there an adapter I need to mate the MJF to my yaesu? I can't figure out how to mate the two?

The VX7r has a SMA style antenna connector and the MFJ-1724B antenna has a PL-259 connector. So, yes you need an adapter. A SMA male to a SO-239 adapter. SO-239 is the female side for a PL-259.

thanks so much for the tech support on the antenna connector. I bought the adapter and finally figured out that I needed to remove part of the cable coming from the antenna to make the adapter compatible.
