Mike Mgrdichian N2FUV passed away April 27, 2025 after an extended period of declining health. As trustee for the Amateur Radio Club @ UT, we have been privileged to receive the gift of his equipment. This equipment will be passed on to student members to support their participation in amateur radio. I am submitting this notification at the request of his wife of 68 years Edna KB2BPI.
Mike was one of a handful of ham radio operators, that spent time in jail for on air harassment. Hopefully the students will put his equipment to good use, he certainly didn’t.
It’s sad when someone’s legacy is defined by their last years. I didn’t become aware of this unfortunate history until after his widow said something. Yes, the UT club teaches and requires responsible operating since our reputation and station are on the line.
