    Are the balloons prepared to beacon their positions in Europe? It looks like the one has left the coverage area of the US. They use a different frequency, right?

    I can't seem to find the link off hand, but the Skytracker pico balloon they used
    is supposed to change frequencies based on the GPS location, as I recall.

    Looks like KN6EQU-2 was declared the winner:

    Would be interesting to find out what happened to the other balloons.
    Did they come down? Just not transmitting due to solar power
    issues?

    The Milwaukee School of Engineering group that launched the balloon told me this
    about the Skytracker payload device:
    "the skytracker will move to euro APRS frequencies once it’s in that part of the world, and there’s a “blacklist” of countries it won’t transmit over due to laws regarding ham radio there. These include North Korea and the UK."

    Would be nice if they would mention if the payloads were recovered. :)
