The current implementation uses a "guesstimate" I made about the appropriate zoom level to use to show an initial view of (most of) the globe. It's arguably not perfect but it's challenging because of the difference in aspect ratios between the projection and the map window (and devices and...). Worse, the current setup is capable of being zoomed out far enough to show three or four copies of the globe map. I'm sure that's the "two of everything" he refers to. I've figured out how to better manage the globe view and limit the zoom out, and no, it won't change the projection. I haven't implemented it yet, because I'm working on higher priority issues, but it's on the list. 73, Steve KF8KI
Yes, I am just talking about the scaling step. It would help if the step was a bit smaller. So instead of going from 100% to 110% with one click, you could go to 102%, 105%, 107%...as an example. Just not jumping to a larger scale too quickly. The aspect ratio would remain the same. Think of zooming in or our with a camera lens...slow twists instead of large twists.
