    Hi,

I am a new ham and trying to log with MacLoggerDX and utilize a waterfall display with CubicSDR. I can control my Icom 718 with each application separately (while the other is either closed or with rig control disabled).

Is there any way to be able to have both applications share the serial port connection on a Mac? I am reading that this is not possible, but I've also gotten glimpses of operators finding ways to do this.

Can MacLoggerDX settings be configured to enable this? Other applications or drivers that can help?

    Thanks!

Sharing a COM port (or USB connection) in macOS is not possible. If CubicSDR can provide, or receive, some other format of rig control such as via UDP then you might be able to get them to work together, but I don't believe that it does. This is one area where Windows is superior: the ability to use port splitter software to share serial ports.

This is what I was beginning to realize. Thanks for the confirmation.
