I just finished a PSK20 Small wonder labs PSK31 radio. It is designed to transmit on 14073 LSB. Dave recommends using Digipan software where the band can be set to 14073 LSB.

Freq calibration is using a "big rig" to transmit CW on 14072.0 - then on the Digipan software you see the CW signal show up on 14072.0 -

If I use some other software (DM780) that is set for USB starting at 14070, should that CW signal still show up at 14072?

When I do this, the CW signal actually shows up at 14071.15 (or close to that) using the DM780 program. Do I have something not aligned correctly? OR is this the 800 hz side tone showing the difference?

Thanks to all for any info.

edit: not sure if this is the correct forum or not - just thinking about trying to calibrate the PSK20 and came here - if it needs moving, please feel free to do so. KRH

OK - I've been playing with PSK some tonight. With a 756Pro set to 7070 USB, a signal appears at 7070.9 in DM780 with the waterfall set to 0 to 3,000 hz.

When the 756Pro is set to 7073 LSB, the same signal still appears at 7070.9 in Digipan "IF" the band is set to 7073 LSB. Neat how that works.
