I was able to obtain my Amateur Radio Extra Class license in part by the efforts this mathematics teacher who had obtained an Engineering Degree from Tufts University gave me and my classmates in the late 80's. His teaching went on long after I graduated but was cut short when even the advent of the cell phone could not rescue him from the strange tides of the Vineyard Sound. He was to me an example of tolerance, patience, and integrity . May he rest in peace.
