Interesting! Modelling an 80m full-wave loop in EZNEC it shows a slightly lower feedpoint resistance on 40m compared to 80m. Could it be feedline impedance transformation putting you out of range of the Pi Network rather than the loop itself?

An antenna wrapped around the house will also get interference from houshold appliances and electronic gadgets. Maybe to the point you will have any but the strongest Ham radio signals blocked out of your receiver..
I had a 40M loop running partially over my house.
The interrference from the household items was so bad I finally had to move it into the woods behind my house and run 250 ft of coax to it.
Now I can hear the weakest QRP signals.

I have a 40m loop. Works good on 80, works fantastic on 40m though. :D

Most of the factory tuners will not catch that high impedance. To add extra coil+tuner, and that's it-fantastic tuner.
