Avast - has a free home edition that self updates and works very well.
I have had AVG also for many years but Avast is updated more often it seems, sometimes several a day. I have been infected while using AVG but so far not with Avast. [IMG]

I run both several times a day, but am sure they do not check for viri. Just other types of malware.

    Hi.

Have a look at these links, hope they help someone to select some security for their computer.

    http://www.freebyte.com/antivirus/

The program linked below is a good one to install.

SECUREMAKER.com protects from malicious software, spying and tracking, avoids betray, protects privacy, reduces advertising while increasing surfing speed, marks spammed emails, optimizes and speeds up computers registry and hard disk, manages startup programs, offers fully automated state of the art email encryption and includes a password generator.

    And it is free.

I've been using AVG for years. I would also suggest you give it a try.

Yup,i have to jump on the AVG bandwagon as well.It does a great job of virus protection and updates frequently. The nice thing about AVG anti virus is it does'nt suck the life out of your computer's resources as Macafee or Norton's does.Definately can't complain about the price.Free is good!
