Clamwin is a good anti-virus programme, is licensed under the GPL (my preference for software!) and is one of the fastest AV programmes around at getting new anti-virus definitions out.

Clamwin's one technical drawback right now is that it doesn't currently have the ability to scan for viruses in "real time".  Given all of the malware that's around for Windows, that's a feature that you really need.

    Hi. Guy

Have a look at this link, I use this anti-virus software and it uses very little memory, it is free to use for life as far as i know, updates very regular each day 4 to 5 times or more [ manual or automatic] anyway have a look, the engine that runs this program is from kaspersky.
