73 everyone, first post in here.
I'm planning my install and i'm looking for good thrust bearings.
From what i heard, the Yeasu units are quite flimsy, they're made of a material that breaks easily.
    What do you recommend?

    Have a nice day.

I bought my thrust bearing from Tashjian Towers, not cheap but built like a tank. Has a grease Zerk fitting - pump grease in to keep water out.

They're mostly cast aluminum and are rugged enough.

What are you trying to support?

Sure. And they should work well when properly installed. Sealing it, fabricating the mountings, and keeping it lubricated could get a little pricey unless you are set up to do your own machining.

Some of what you are paying for in Rohn et al is that they are already drilled to fit your tower bracket and designed to sit up there for decades in the weather without maintenance. The bearing function can be replicated fairly inexpensively. The rest not so much by the average person.
