Can anyone recommend a decent app for my Mac to enable digital logging for easy export to QRZ and the other e-log books please?

MacLoggerDX, RUMlogNG, or Aether. You can't go wrong with any of them. MacLoggerDX supports the most e-log books straight out of the box, while RUMlogNG supports the main ones and others via another QSL app. Aether isn't bad either.

They all have free trials while only RUMlogNG is completely free. You can't go wrong with any of them so try them all and choose the one you like the most!
