Linear Actuators for tilting antenna mounts?

    A fellow in my area, N1SNP just accomplished a similar project. He repurposed the actuator that raises/lowers the incline of a treadmill. It's 110AC but he already had an inverter in the truck.

    I just love tilting antenna! Not!

    Sooner or later, you'll forget to lower the antenna, with very predicable results. Whether it's your garage door, an overhang, whatever, the end result is always the same. Alternative? A VERY GOOD memory.

    It would be very easy to fab up an indicator light in the vehicle that would flash in your face if the antenna is up and the car is started.
