    Like, it makes a difference:confused:?

    (Actually, I use Strawberry jars for RG-213/LMR400 They're bigger;) Mint jars are OK for RG-58. Use grape jelly jars for RG-8x/RG-59.):rolleyes::p

    A five gallon plastic bucket could hold all your coax ends at once! Another one could go over your head to protect it from flying debris and cut down on the sound of the explosion from the lightning. :rolleyes:

    But will a 5 gallon pail also cover a tin-foil hat?:confused::rolleyes:

    I personally use a small crock pot that is thick and has a lid.

    A low tech analog solution, but the ol' AM radio can keep you posted on local lightening activity. Tune between stations to keep an ear on more-distant activity. Or tune to a suitable not-too-strong station to hear stronger/closer strikes that occasionally break through the signal.

    Do you put salted or unsalted water in it? I'm looking for mho's rather than ohm's because it reverses the travel.

    Unless things changed since it I last checked, it takes actual hardware to detect lightning. Software won't do it.

    Oh yes, and the protection is synergistic. Even Gray Reptilians can't police thoughts behind that combination of headgear.

    If you hear the boom you are OK,
    Summertime I am disconnected except while using rig. That way I don't have to worry about it if I'm gone, asleep at nite, or whatever. Standard summertime operating procedure. 73 RAC
