I liked Letterman better when he had the 12:30 slot on NBC, he was better there. Conan was also better in the 12:30 slot.

Of course Carson was the best, I grew up in the times of Carson in the 11:30 slot and Letterman in the 12:30.

Leno has his moments, I like the headlines and ads he does, but that's about it.

I don't really watch any of the late night / tonight shows anymore

    Late Night TV, LOL!

Carson and Ed were always a class act. On occasion, I used to stay up and watch Jay, depending on who his guest were on that night. Conan's ok, in small doses. Letterman is about as funny as a hickey on a hemorrhoid. When he went after Sarah Palin's daughter, then half-heartily apologized, I lost all respect for him. I think the jackazz should be off television, as well as the NBC, MSNBC, and CNN news folks. Opps, is my Shaun Hannity showing?

But, since I've gotten older, I rarely see the local 10 pm local news & weather.

None of them all the time...

Leno is lame...goes for the easy joke, makes fun of people who aren't as smart as he, spoiled brat who's holding NBC's ##lls to the anvil. Conan can be smart and really funny OR really not. Letterman can have the best monolog but often gets too obtuse and plays to the band oft much...but he is also the closest to Jack Paar. Jimmy Fallon does some funny bits and his "moments" when the audience all does something odd at the same time can be brilliant.
NBC has slipped so badly in the past 5 years and yet the only heads that have rolled are worker bees as Management has cut the head-count so the company would be more attractive to potential buyers, while the quality of all their programing has plummeted.
    Bad days for the Peacock.

Yep. I believe this pretty-much says it about the quality of TV programming, in general...
