    Hello all.

I have a 20 year old Kenwood V7A (the one with the blue display). All of a sudden when I press the mic PTT, it doesn't transmit - at all. The mic buttons on the top edge of the mic (frequency up/down) work as does the top few buttons (CALL, VFO, MR and PF). The keypad buttons however, do not. The lock switch on the back is in the unlock position. Mic is the original that came with the rig.

Anyone who may have had the same experience?

So, I'm wondering do I have a mic that has gone bad, or has the radio gone bad?

    Thanks so much

Are you interested in selling it? I have two V7As. One has horizontal and vertical stripes that make the display unusable. I love the radio but can't seem to find a replacement for the bad front panel. If your front panel still works I could make one good radio our of two.
