    Hello,

I have a Kenwood TS940S with an intermittent problem. When the speech processor is turned on, I get an oscillation that appears as a tone from the speaker and at the same time the S meter reads above S9. The intermittent seems to come and go when the IF circuit board is even very lightly touched close to or on the aluminum mount for the 455 KHz. CW filter (Left hand mount when viewed from the front). Checking for cold joints, none found. Light pressure on components in the vicinity has no effect. Filter is not installed, this problem is apparent in the receive mode, LSB, USB or CW. S/N is 8110240. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Any suggestions?

You are about 1-1/2 hours away from my place.
If you want to swing by, I could look at it.
