Hi,I am looking at a Kenwood TS530SP radio. It has what I think is a polarized plug but not sure.Due to the high voltages, would it be advisable to install a 3 prong plug with an earth ground to chassis?
    Thanks

The plug is polarized by blade width, but no harm in adding an earth ground via the outlet, and "today" it would have one, since it has a metal cover, panel sockets and metal stuff you can touch.

To avoid having to cut off and remove the original power cord which is hard-wired, you can just add a utility ground using the chassis ground connection at the rear panel to wire that to your electrical outlet ground terminal; if you don't move the rig around and it sits in one place, that's pretty easy and non-instrusive.
