Would like to know how long the internal battery lasts without 13 volts applied to the transceiver. It’s not convenient to always have power applied but tedious to reenter all setup, memory, etc. The manual has no relevant info. Appreciate any clues.

Lithium Coin Cells, for memory backup, usually last 10-15 years.
Cliff Holland, KA5IPF (retired Kenwood service tech, AAVID) provided this information:
The Kenwood TM-733 is unique in that it uses a rechargeable Li-Ion battery.
You cannot replace it with a regular battery and holder. It must be a rechargeable battery.

The Battery is located on the Circuit Board under the speaker,
about the size of a dime, Left Front Corner.

Kenwood uses a "W09"-xxxx-xx prefix to their part number for batteries and related items.

According to the TM-733A Service Manual (above) --- Page 47 (paper manual #)
