Hello all, I have a dual band kenwood tk-690/790 and I am having issues with it turning on. I removed the two resistors and moved the one resistor per the service manual and placed the tk-690 on the lower band where the remote head/dual band connection runs to. I mounted this setup in my 1986 f-250 and have the ignition sense cable running to a add-a-fuse on the fuel selector fuse in the fuse box since the add-a-fuse is only rated to 10 amps. The fuel selector fuse is only on when the key is on. But whenever I turn the key I’ll either get no response or it’ll turn on with a bunch of black blocks all over the screen. Does anyone know what might be wrong and be able to help me fix this issue? I have used these radios separately in the past and they both worked flawlessly but since I put it in dual band setup so I don’t have a bunch of radios in my truck. I get no response or any luck trying to get it on so I can reprogram them. Thanks all.
