    I appreciate the tech help- but I'm going to just "tag it n bag it" for the time being, with a note to replace the internal mem support batt.

    The problem with that is if/when the battery starts to leak. The voltage is obviously WAY below what it should be; a leak can destroy copper traces on the circuit board, and may not be replaceable. YMMV; it's your decision.

    I have one doing erratic things and the memory cell measured 1.4v.. I am sure it needs to be replaced and it

    @KC0BIN Were you able to have your HT fixed? I have the same problem with mine. HT wouldn't RX and TX. Also, beeping of some sort. I changed the internal memory battery and I got a brand new battery pack but no luck. Still the same..
