    Hello Fellow Ham Operators

    I have the following equipment

    • Kenwood 590s,
    • SDR Pro
    • MFJ 1708..
I saw somewhere that there is ability to sync the Kenwood 590s and sync with SDR, meaning when you turn the dial on the transceiver, the SDR would move as well (Or visa versa)

For the life of me, I can't find that info, I saw it before, and I noted I had to down load special software for USB support to make the Kenwood 590s and SDR in Sync...

    Look forward to your responses!

    NN2X, Tom

Commander, the transceiver control component of the free-ware DXLab Suite, provides a secondary CAT port you can use to interact with an SDR-driven panoramic display with bidirectional frequency synchronization. Step-by-step instructions are here.

The first step would be to configure Commander to control your TS-590S via Commander's primary CAT port.

If you need assistance, post a message on the DXLab Discussion Group, where all questions are welcome no matter how many times they may have already been asked and answered.

    Tom,

Two helpful videos linked below. The 590S configuration for rig control isn't significantly different than the 590SG. All you need is the proper USB cable. I recently "remote" assisted in the configuration of a older 590S. (I own an SG).

Any menu references from the 590SG vs 590S menus can be figured out here: http://www.g3nrw.net/ts-590-files/TechNote_TS-590_Menu_Conversion_v1.0.pdf

And as always, Google searches are your friend. Lots of info out there.
