He was born in Amarillo, Texas to Carl B. and Willie Mae (Davis) Hale on Wednesday, March 29, 1944. Ken proudly served his country between 1961 and 1982 in the United States Army for 20 years and 9 months, before retiring Sergeant First Class, with an honorable discharge in 1982. During this time, he served as a Communications Chief as well as working as an assistant to the Chaplain. Ken, an already notable man, in his dedication and service to his country, would also teach a computer programming class and work as a network administrator for North Lake College. Throughout his amazing and busy life, Ken still found the time to become a self-taught master leather craftsman, working and running his own company Durango Saddle in Irving. In 1978, he was ordained a Catholic permanent Deacon for the Dallas Diocese and served faithfully for over 30 years at the Holy Family of Nazareth in Irving. Ken was a hardworking and dedicated husband, father, Opa and friend to many, and will be greatly missed. Ken is preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Anna Hale; son James Michael Hale and wife Jen; son Carl Wayne Hale; son Leonard Allan Hale and wife Yana; grandchildren Caitlyn Hale, Maximilien Hale, Christopher Hale, Max Alexander Hale and Vladislav Zelenskiy as well as numerous extended family and friends. A Rosary is to be said at 9:30am, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 2323 Cheyenne St. in Irving with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:00 am. An interment with full Military Honors will begin at 2:30pm, the same day at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mtn Creek Pkwy in Dallas.
