Constance Jean Hostetter Stott - Millard County Chronicle Progress mentions Ken, KB7WQD. Posted as they both lived in my wife's hometown, Delta UT and she had a thin, passing acquittance. Both were active in CERT activities. By all accounts, a very nice couple.
Connie H Stott, KC7YQG SK KC7YQG has left the air to join KB7WQD Constance "Connie" Jean Hostetter Stott was born on April 18, 1942, in Manassa, Colorado, to Merl and Wilma McKenzie Hostetter. A loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother and great-grandmother, her family meant the world to her, including her son's friend, Tony Hancock, and his family, whom she loved as her own. She considered him a son and loved being called "Mom" and "Grandma" by Tony, Gracia and their kids. She was raised in Manassa, Colorado and Farmington, New Mexico with one older brother, William "Rick", and 2 younger brothers, Kenneth and Randy. School Connie graduated from Farmington High School, June 1, 1960, and attended college at BYU. Two jobs that she spoke often about were being a stewardess and working as a paralegal. While working for a small airline company part-time as a stewardess, she trained to become a paralegal. She was a paralegal for a combined 58 years in both Salt Lake City, Utah and Delta, Utah. While working for Waddingham & Associates in Delta, she made lifelong friends with her co-workers, two of whom are Jetta Swalberg and Marinda Willoughby. Her beloved Nyle passed away on January 14, 2020. She loved serving in her church callings, going to the temple and doing genealogy. She spent countless hours as a volunteer indexing genealogical records until her hands couldn't type anymore. Her hobbies included working in her yard where she created a beautiful, weed-free desert oasis and created a patio outside her home by laying 2000 bricks by hand. She loved making heavy, warm denim quilts for her children and grandchildren, sewing, and camping with her family in her beloved desert. On family camping trips, she created priceless memories with the grandkids by doing fun activities like making Zip-lock ice cream and other treats. Connie and Nyle were heavily involved in their community in Millard County. They were a part of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and participated in countless emergency preparedness events. She also became a HAM radio operator, which served her well during frequent long trips she took across the desert. Nyle W Stott, KB7WQD SK Nyle Wesley Stott KB7WQD has left the Air. On January 14, 2020, Nyle Wesley Stott passed away in Delta, Utah. Nyle was born in Meadow, Utah on February 18, 1942, to Wesley and VauNess Thacker Stott. He married Constance “Connie” Jean Hostetter on September 14, 1963. Later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They were the parents of Michelle (Schelleigh) and Mitchell Nyle Stott. Nyle’s family was always foremost in everything he did. He was a wonderful husband and father, including loving Mitchell’s friend, Tony Hancock and his family, as his own. Nyle’s family moved to Beaver County shortly after he was born, and he attended school in Milford and Beaver where he graduated from Beaver High School in June 1960. He then graduated from the Salt Lake School of Electronics. He worked for Adair TV Repair while attending trade school and then part time until 1985. After graduation, he worked for KTVX as a cameraman - then advanced to technical director, KUED as cameraman, and University of Utah as electronics technician before moving to Delta in 1985 where he worked for IPP until retiring in February 2007. He was a man of many talents which he shared freely. Even before the flood of 1983, he was interested in self reliance, food storage and emergency preparedness. He served as stake and ward preparedness director for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who backpacked, hiked, Jeeped and camped with his family and friends all year round no matter the weather. He went from a Honda 50 motorcycle to a Harley, then when his kids were old enough he went back to trail bikes, then four-wheelers – all the while aware of and teaching the need to stay self reliant. One of his main hobbies was photography, much of his expertise being acquired at Channels 4 and 7. After moving to Millard County, that interest turned to finding and photographing petroglyphs, hieroglyphics and interesting subjects mostly in the desert. Nyle had torn apart and put together radios, phonographs and other things electronic even as a child and purchased his first CB radio early in his teens. That advanced to amateur radio (HAM) which led to CERT (Community Emergency Responce Team) for 25 years. Even after he could no longer participate, he assured the team that he would help if needed. He was preceded in death by his precious daughter: Michelle; his parents and his sister: Frances Gale. He is survived by his wife: Connie; son: Mitchell; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister: Yvonne (Varnel) Parkinson; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the members of the Intermountain Homecare & Hospice who were all so wonderful during Nyle’s last months.
