    ROBERT J. HAJEK, SR. 65, of Oregon died Thursday April 16, 2009 in his home. He was born May 17, 1943 in Berwyn, IL, the son of James J. & Rita Clare Kalka Hajek. He was a graduate of Loras College and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois. He practiced law in the Chicago area for 25 years before moving to Oregon 17 years ago. He enjoyed being a HAM radio operator. He is survived by daughters, Maris (Craig) Weinewuth of Winfield, IL and Mandie (Fred) Conforti of Chicago; sons, Robert (Lisa) Hajek, Jr. of Naperville, IL and David H. (Deborah) Hajek of Fishers, IN; grandchildren, Jordin, Meghan, Caitlin, Erin, Lauren, Lindsey, Nathan, Jonathan, & Fred; and brother, James (Rosie) Hajek of the state of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents. Christian Funeral Mass will be held Thursday April 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Catholic Church, 301 N. 4th St., Oregon with Father Richard Kramer, pastor, celebrating and Father Robert Cristobal in attendance. Burial will be in St. Bride’s Episcopal Cemetery, Oregon. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th St., Oregon. Memorials to Franciscan Friars, 2613 Hwy. 82 East, Greenwood, MS 38930.

    I have lost a good friend of 40 years. Bob was an avid DX enthusiast.
