A while back I acquired a National NC-109. I hadn't had a chance to lift the hood on this...and since it worked great there was no need to. Well, today I was tightening up one of the dial cords, and on the chassis, I see a little Dymo label sticker with K8YJS on it. Does anyone know who this was....I presume he's been a silent key for a while. Just curious. I like this stuff. Eric

No, did not know him. I have been doing Silent Key notices for a few years and have learned a few places to look. I pay to use Hamcall.net as a Gold Member, to search their Archived Call Signs; they have scanned several older Call Books. http://hamcall.net/memberbenefits.html Once I had the name I searched for the Death Record and then searched by Call Sign via Google search. Glad I was able to help. Have fun with your "New" Old radio.
Don't think he was a ham very long. I believe the K8 callsigns were issued in the mid 1955-60 era, and my 1974 callbook doesn't show him. WB4FDT
