I am a Viet Nam Era veteran on and inside the Korean DMZ(69-70)....Worked this station several times over the years.... Even sent a donation of cash to help with the postage and card cost and he returned my donation saying that he had it covered... He is one "class act".... ""Pow"s and Mia"s might be gone but are never to be forgotten"" .... Rode a motorcycle with the "Patriot Guard" with a 3ft x 5ft American flag that waved proudly while performing escorts for veterans welcome home / send offs for individuals or entire units / as well as standing honor guard at the funeral homes / escorts to the grave site / rendering honors at burial site .........
God bless our troops be they past / present/ or future........ KL7JIU

Some tried to serve, but were rejected. Not our choice.
    Lost some really good friends.

Fair enough, for those that tried to serve.

My ancestral Grandfather, Jean Cardinal, was taken prisoner in May 26, 1780 at the revolutionary war Battle of Fort San Carlos, in what is now St. Louis , MO riverfront where the current Arch is. He was never recovered and most likely his Osage captors murdered him. During the following year search parties were sent far and wide and mostly up the Missouri River (where other Indians on our side reported Jean to have been taken) looking for Jean but to no avail. I really would've enjoyed working this special event station and look forward to the next opportunity.
