    Information via Carpino Funeral Home,

SOUTHBURY – Thomas Dale Schreiner, 76, passed away peacefully at Riverglen Health Care Center on Wednesday, March 27th 2018. He was the husband of Linda (Milone) Schreiner, to whom he was married for 38 years.

Thomas was born in Stillwater, OK on July 23, 1942 to the late Karl and Frieda (Hafner) Schreiner. While growing up, he enjoyed helping out his family on the farm, building ham radios, and flying airplanes. It was in middle school where he discovered his love and talent for playing the French horn, and from there he followed his passion for music.

He was a graduate of the University of Houston, where he earned a Masters in Music Education, with a minor in English. Tom was drafted into Air America, where he operated C-130's transporting important supplies during the Vietnam War. When he returned, his love for music flourished with a successful career as an instrumental music teacher and band director, spanning over 50 years in many states, such as Texas, Colorado, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.

When he wasn't teaching, he spent much of his free time volunteering in symphony orchestras around the country. Tom will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Among his survivors are his wife, Linda Schreiner of Southbury, Kristopher Schreiner and Melissa (Rogers) Schreiner of Brooklyn, CT with their adored grandchild Klara Schreiner, Jeremy Schreiner and Amanda Deschenes of Waterbury, and his beloved rescue dog, Felicia.
In addition, his many other relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Services will be located at Church of the Epiphany on Saturday, April 6th 2019 at 262 Main Street North, Southbury, CT. Family, friends, and relatives can visit Tom's family at the church between 10am-11:40am, and a memorial service will follow from 12pm to 1pm.
