    JT65 follows the VHF/EME protocol of stations choosing either the even or odd minute. This is intended to prevent stations running schedules from doubling. As a courtesy to other stations, I normally try to call CQ in sync with local stations on 160/80M, so that we all have a better chance of hearing DX. I just missed working an IK4 last night on 160M--he was -17 and probably heard me, but the band faded due to his sunrise before we could complete a contact.
