    Jon Michael Delaune
    August 03, 1937 - June 19, 2019
    DELAUNE, Jon Michael, 81, of Mesa, died suddenly of cardiac complications on June 19, 2019 in Mesa. Born August 3, 1937 in Galveston,TX. Jon was the son of the late Sidney J. and Edna Earle DeLaune. He was predeceased by his parents and older brother Donald. Jon grew up in Texas City TX and held B.S.(EE) and M.S.(EE) degrees from Texas A&M University. He was the husband of Katheleen Baker DeLaune also from Texas City for over 59 years. From 1960-1966 he served as an officer and pilot of KC-135s in the US Air Force. A career in the engineering and marketing divisions of Motorola Inc. brought him to the East Valley in 1967. He retired from Motorola in 2000 and filled his days with his lifelong passions of live steam railroading and ham radio. He was a member of Maricopa Live Steamers, Scottsdale Live Steamers, Collins Radio Group and the Church of the Epiphany. Jon is survived by his wife Katheleen, son Jon Christopher of Aztec NM, brother Timothy L. of KY, two nieces Patricia and Kathleen, and nephew Michael. Jon's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 29 at 3pm at the Church of the Epiphany, 2222 S. Price Rd., Tempe AZ. Gifts in Jon's memory may be made to the Church of the Epiphany in lieu of flowers. Arrangements entrusted to Tempe Mortuary.
