John W Farler, K4AVX SK John William Farler February 11, 1942 - December 2, 2024 John William Farler, age 82, of Viper, KY, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at The Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center. John was an educator for over 40 years. He served as Principal at Lothair and Roy G Eversole Elementary. Throughout his years in education, he became friends with an array of students and their families. He helped coach football at the high school. John was a member of the Hazard Lions Club and also the KEA. He spent many years with the American Radio Relay League, where he trained several operators. John took pride in the administrative role of the Old Hazard Bulldog Facebook Page. He was the son of the late John Casslus Farler and the late Mildred Bellamy Farler. He is survived by his Wife of 59 years: Patricia Farler; Two Daughters: Laura Farler Fitz, Viper, KY & Jennifer Farler Adams (Brad), Viper, KY; One Grandchild: Laura Grace Adams, Viper, KY; Sister-In-Law: Pam Dunn (Ron), Alexandria, KY and A Host of Friends and Family. Arrangements are being handled by Maggard's Mtn. View Chapel where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2024. Funeral service will be at Maggard's Mtn. View Chapel at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2024, Rick King officiating. Interment will be at Farler Cemetery, Viper, KY.
