    Jimmie Lane Reeves
    December 21, 1940 – May 8, 2018


    NEW IBERIA - It is with great sadness that the Reeves family announces the passing of Mr. Jimmie Lane Reeves, age 77 of St. Martinville, Louisiana. On Tuesday, May 8, 2018 after a long 10-year battle with cancer he passed away at his home peacefully surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Mrs. Pasty Ann Griffin Reeves of St. Martinville, Louisiana.

    Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Ira Lane Reeves and Mrs. Ona Lee Wilson Reeves. He will be lovingly remembered by his oldest son Terry (Annie) Reeves of Lafayette, LA, his only daughter Sylvia Reeves Thompson of St. Martinville, LA and his youngest son Jerry (Beth) Reeves of Youngsville, LA. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren Zoe Mouacdie, Ashleigh Murray, Jesse Thompson, Nikki Strubbe, Linsey Thompson, Kimberly Signorelli, Michael Signorelli and Addison Reeves. And 4 great grandchildren Bradley Thompson, Joshua Murray, Khloe Murray and Augusto Strubbe. He is also survived by one brother Joseph Reeves of Plano, Texas.

    Jimmie was a Jet Mechanic in the United States Air Force from 1961 through 1965. He retired in 2004 from Lockwood-Green & Co. where he worked as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer.
    He was passionate about his hobby as an Amateur Ham Radio Operator for over 28 years. He was a member of the Acadiana Amateur Radio Association in Lafayette, Louisiana.
    The family is honored to submit his call sign N8OVD to The National Silent Key Archive of ARRL the national association for Amateur Radio. Jimmie was an avid FOX News fan and enjoyed watching it daily. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of New Iberia, Louisiana.

    The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Nursing Specialties Hospice Care (NSI) team for the supportive and compassionate care they gave to Jimmie and our family during this difficult time.

    An intimate graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia, Louisiana. Chaplain Paul Broussard will officiate. Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia, Louisiana is in charge of his arrangements.

    The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations may be made to a cancer organization, foundation, or charity of one’s choice.
