    Jay H. Wright / KK9L / N9IMT

    ( April 11, 1952 - April 16, 2020 )

Jay, 68, passed away at Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis after an extended illness. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana to the late Howard E. and Helen L. (Rogers) Wright. Due to the COVID-19 Virus requirements, a private graveside service will be held at the Clayton (IN.) Cemetery, where his cremains will be laid to rest next to his parents.

Jay grew up in the Clayton community, and graduated from Cascade High School. He furthered his education, receiving a degree in electrical engineering. Being an electrical engineer, Jay enjoyed anything that had to do with radio, television, public address systems installation and repair. He owned and operated "Southwest Electronics" in Danville for many years. Jay loved his country and community. He was a member of the Clayton Presbyterian Church, and the Danville American Legion Post #118. Jay realized the importance of public safety and communications during anytime that a disaster might occur. Although amateur radio service was "fun", he made himself available for all types of needed radio emergency services. He was a member of the Hendricks County and Indianapolis Amateur Radio Society Clubs, Department of Homeland Security, served as a volunteer examiner for FCC testing, and was a member of RACES and ARES, organizations coordinating emergency radio communications for federal, state, local governments, as well as hospitals, the American Red Cross, and Salvation Army.

As Jay was an only child, and never married, survivors include his God-Son, Ryan Christian of San Diego, California and many friends.

WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME DANVILLE entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
