    1949-2008

    Montgomery, Massachusetts

    James L. D. Harrington, JR., 59, of Montgomery, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Baystate Medical center. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late James L.D. Harrington, SR. and Sophie (Boczon) Harrington.

    Jim was a graduate of Holyoke High School and attended Westfield State College. He was a Machinist Mechanic for Advanced Manufacturing in Westfield, Ma.

    Jim was a member of SKYWARN, ARRL Amateur Radio and Ham Radio, and former president of the Hampden County Radio Association club (Massachusetts).

    He is survived by his wife, Katherine M. (Pond) Harrington, a daughter, Angela L. Zabawa of Holyoke, two brothers, John R. Harrington and his wife Sandra of Westfield, and Donald Partyka of South Hadley, three sisters Cindy Whitefoot of Michigan, Pat Zalewski of South Hadley, Kathy LaMont and her husband Al of Ware, and many nieces and nephews.

    Jim was predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie Lea Zabawa who died in 1970.

    A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton, Street, Holyoke, Ma. Burial will be private. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 9:00 to 10 a.m.
