James A Jordan, K4FLG SK James A. Jordan, 81 of Dalton GA passed away on December 27, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Marie Jordan, parents James Clinton and Lucille Jordan, sister Billie Smith, brothers in law Jim Smith, and Bill Decker all of Dalton, GA. In 1971, James met the love of his life Marie and together they had two daughters who they cherished and loved deeply, Julie (David) Kubin and Tanya (Eddie) Brooker. Together James and Marie were blessed with six grandchildren: Daniel (Caroline) Kubin, Kaitlynn (Garrett) Epsy, Blake Brooker, Ben Brooker, Kiersten Kubin, Nate (Karely) Kubin and his great-grandson Wellington Kubin. He is also survived by cousin and close friend Bruce Jordan and wife Carol, sister-in-law Juanita Decker, nieces, nephews and cousins. James was a fortunate man to be blessed with many lifelong friends from his younger years as well as his many years in sales within the carpet backing industrusty. He graduated from Dalton High School in 1961 and still regularly met with classmates for breakfast. Although retired, he also still remains friends with many people he met throughout his 55 years in latex sales. James was an active member of the Dalton Amateur Radio Club for several decades. He originally received his Amateur Radio license at the age of 12 in 1953, he received his FCC license at the age of 14 in 1955, working part time at the local radio station in Dalton. He enjoyed the original "social media" in the evenings talking and trading equipment with his friends across the country for many years. K4FLG you will be missed. The family would like to thank all of his friends for their cards, calls, prayers and kind words during this thankfully brief illness. A special thank you to Amedysis Hospice, Landon Norris, and Marvel Smith. A memorial service for James will take place on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 12 PM at Dalton Funeral Home in Dalton GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the Memorial Service at 12:00 PM In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dalton Greater Works, PO Box 6, Dalton, GA 30722 in memory of James Jordan.
