It's one thing to trash talk Ham radio here, but to do it publicly......

Why would anyone who thought you went to Hawaii even think there was snow there? HR is almost always unnecessary.

You mean, you used a unit of measure to describe a measurement? So as to make sure it was unambiguous as to what you were talking about?

One of those English-idiom things - does a verb refer to the object or the subject?

Prove it. Name the "50 other contests".

I'll ask again: What contest has ONLY the signal report as the exchange?

None that I can think of. State, Zone, Power, Serial Number, Age, etc.

Cannot wait to hear Burt's answer. :)

Who remembers hearing in the 60s "CQ, no lids and no kids!"

Here's one: ARRL EME Contest (http://www.arrl.org/eme-contest)

But, of course, I somehow doubt that's a contest he's talking about...

Here's another one, the extremely highly popular EANET Sprint (http://fediea.org/news/?news=20171105), which rules don't actually even seem to specify an exchange...

Oh, I'm quite certain that the number is much higher than 50... :D

I don't remember any that require only signal reports, though, which may have been your actual point...

That is my actual point. Thanks for being clearer than I was.
