Does it come with burn ointment?
No thanks, I already have an RF finder.
I'd much rather have the GT-500KR.
Wasn't the original Shelby slogan "It's Better than Baofeng" ?
Yes A Nice car, and I like it's looks, but it is like radios, they old school look nice in our nostalgia but performance of the newer cars/radio just blows them away. My Ford Racing Track Tuned 2013 GT manual did better performance then the older ones... The 2013/2014 Shelby Trinity 5.7 quad overhead cam was doing 662hpr with it's blower...
That's an interesting viewpoint I had not thought of. I can't say I disagree though I know some will.
The Xiegu is also not remotely an HT. Portable, yes, but HT format, no, not remotely. Oh sure you COULD I suppose rig it up in some kind of belt or backpack case with some sort of very compromise antenna in such a way that you could theoretically walk and use it at the same time, but it would be at best far from practical. Just because you CAN does not mean you SHOULD.
Good point. When I see "HAM" in all caps I stop reading and dismiss any opinion I've already read from that poster.
Snobbish of me? Yes. I don't care. I am a snob about several things, that among them. I don't care about that either.
I never owned one and those pictures are just snatched from some website.
But I did know one ham who owned the GT500KR, it was Bob K2YWS. Actually Bob was the only person anywhere who I knew and owned one. That was in the early 70s. But I remember it!
Wonder what one in great condition is worth today?
