    I don't think anyone is "so upset".

    I think there is value in doing things the right way.

    If something is worth doing, it's worth doing correctly.

    73 is correct.

    73s or 73's or whatever is not correct.

    The entire argument over 73 or 73's or 73s is really quite silly and pedantic, something I've haven't seen Burt involve himself in so that proves how dumb the entire argument is.
    Use CW shorthand in CW and everything is fine. Using it outside of CW is pretty silly, right along side of saying hi hi on SSB instead of just laughing.
