The Palos Verdes Amateur Radio Club – K6PV, will be conducting its first ever mini IOTA DXpedition to Santa Catalina Island (NA-066) California. Operations will take place from the settlement of Two Harbors beginning in the late afternoon of November 12th and lasting through the morning of November 15th with principal operations on 20 Meters and 40 Meters SSB.

Santa Catalina Island is the largest of the southern California channel islands, having a land area of 74.98 square miles and a population of over 3,600 most of which reside in the island’s only city of Avalon, about 20 miles southeast of the rustic seaside village of Two Harbors. The island is located approximately 22 miles off the southern California coast and is about a one hour boat ride from Los Angeles harbor.

A special QSL card for this event will be produced, and those requesting one should QSL direct to: PVARC, P.O.Box 2316, Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA 90274 with an S.A.S.E.

This will be an excellent opportunity for radio amateurs to work a fairly rare island.
