I never thought of ham radio as being a competition.

I remember you from the "Old Days" at N5AU, Gordon's place. We were great competitors from Missouri at AB0I and the KCDXC Club. I visited Gordon one contest weekend and you were operating the 40m CW position. I asked you how my guys were doing on 40m and you said here take a listen! Thanks for your time then and all that you do for contesting in general. One doesn't get to visit another competitor too often and see how the "Rubber Meets The Road" so to speak. I am retired from all the contesting back in the day and live in Southern UT with the call K7KF. Kudos on the video, brought back some great memories when we didn't have computers and kept a "Manual Dupe Sheet", now that was contesting!

I am not areal contester, but with my humble station I will take part first time in this contest. Main goal is to have a lot of fun. I hope that all are using a clear alphabet according to the rules. Very bad is to use "CANADA" and "ZANZIBAR" because the german words are KANADA and SANSIBAR. So a CANADA will be logged as a KILO and a ZANZIBAR as a SIERRA.
The only items I accept is ALFA >> AMERICA and INDIA >> ITALY because their are no misunderstandigs. That makes it easier for hams like me who are not so familiar with contests.

Even though I am not a contester, I am always happy to see a contest as the waterfall display will show a lot of stations. Most of the days the waterfall is empty in my radio, except for 40m in the morning net time. I will be able to work some of them as well! 73 de Jon, VU2JO
