In October 2024, seven ham radio contesters gathered at Villa Grand Piton in Soufrière, St. Lucia, the home of Bill (J68HZ) and Loretta Schmidt, to compete in the CQ Worldwide SSB Contest—the largest ham radio competition in the world. After days of meticulous preparation, the team achieved over 17 million points in the multi-two high-power category, making more than 11,000 contacts. I enjoy your contesting videos and interviews with the guys , they have a tremendous amount of knowledge they share. I have never been around a contesting environment or experienced working pile ups and really enjoyed seeing the J62K team contesting videos showing the guys working ... looks like unbelievable fun !
