I once used sewing thread and nail polish to fix a cracked nylon bandswitch coupling on a Kenwood hybrid.

YES I have and the tickle in throat along with the feathers I coughed out in the morning was all the evidence needed to prove what kind of marshmallow I ingested during my dream sleepwalking episode. Ya think that's funny ? Wait until it actually happens and you don't have a pillow anymore to place your head when you sleep. Very funny ? Not!
I similiarly same thing on the shaft coupler on the roller inductor of a tuner, except I used dental floss and super glue to save ham radio.
I got a dog "fixed" once.
Technically you can only quit once.
However, you can quit quitting several times!
