The battery is TalentCell model YB1203000 (12V/3000mAh). I added the retractable DC cable to it for convenience.
The antenna is the MFJ-1820T telescopic whip for 20M where I'm mostly on with my portable setup.

I drilled some holes in a thin board and used elastic cord to secure the MTR-4B, paddles, tuner and battery pack. I used screws to attach a clip to hold a notepad.

Everything fits in a small Pelican box, including a spare battery pack, notepad and pencil, and a zip case for the earphones.

To transport this I put the Pelican box in the bottom of a day pack with the board next to the back. There is room for an antenna, coax, throw rope and a rain jacket and lunch. If I'm going somewhere without trees, I carry a telescopic 20 ft carbon-fiber mast in one hand.

    better options, perfect for qrp:

    love the telescopic antenna.
i saw an oshkosh in heidelberg that had a commo box which you entered by fold down
steps on the back, and the antenna was on the left rear corner.

    then there's the off-season model:

I think it is the same battery but just a different brand (TalentCell), though the above photo is the 6Ah model which is bigger than the 3Ah one I have. They are just 3 or 6 of 18650 li-ion cells with a tiny charger board, which requires a charger unit they provide along.

I wonder if I could mount a solar panel to a rascal scooter and power the radio and the scooter all at once.
