    iHAB-1 Launch Announcement

    iHAB (Iowa High Altitude Balloon) Project will launch its FIRST High Altitude/Near Space balloon on Saturday August 28th from the Indian Hills Community College North Campus (Ottumwa Regional Airport). We are meeting at 9AM to begin preflight operations. Everyone is welcome to attend this inaugural launch of the iHAB Project.

    iHAB-1 will be airborne for approximately 3 hours and can be tracked LIVE :

    Beacon heard in Phoenix

    I've been hearing the beacon for the last 10 minutes - now 1524 UTC. 559 copy with a simple wire antenna up 25 feet.

    Signal Report from Southern Mississippi (EM51hh)

    Very strong signal in Hattiesburg, MS EM51hh. 599+ Have been copying for almost 45 minutes. Using a TenTec Orion II and a 5 element wide spaced (Computer aided design) monoband Yagi at a height of 26 meters. Currently show frequency at 14,067.102 KHz.

    iHAB-1 was a HUGE success! Overwhelming response! Thank you to everyone who helped! Here are the updated photo/news reports. I have 200+ emails I am still going through of radio signal reports from all over the USA, Brazil, and Australia.
