Craig, I'll yield to your experience with that particular aspect of the hobby. But I have one curiosity. Why 7:00 AM? Is that just a matter of convenience with one's schedule of daily tasks? My experience in monitoring meteor activity very clearly and consistently shows a pattern of hightened activity in the few hours right after midnight, a lull in activity begining around 6:00 AM until around noon and then another significant peak for a couple hours in early afternoon. This is consistent with other meteor monitoring stations around the country. So, wondering if your meteor scatter contacts might gain more success by adjusting the operating time to favor those hours, at least for stateside contacts.
