How many amps should the ic-7000 draw with no audio when in transmit mode? My older SN 0506599 shows about 4 amps of additional current above receive mode current. Seems like a lot. How do you set the no signal resting current in the IC-7000?

It'll be the biasing on the PA transistors , when those ic718's 1st came out the new out of the box drew 8 amps on tx ssb no audio , after a email to icom they said send it back at "my" cost lol .

I set the bias myself after looking up the data , it was such a piece of junk it went in the bin 3 months later (heaps of other issues and of course the send it back routine at $50)

    It'll be the bias imo

The IC-7000 service manual states the PA idling current on HF/50 MHz should be 1A and it's adjustable.

Going by that chart it's not too far off

    Hf1 - 1 amp then Hf2 1 amp then driver 1amp = 3 amp

    Nothing like 8 amp !.
