I find conflicting old log entries. Was the CT9 prefix ever Portugal, or has it always been Madeira Is.?

    Gary,

I think that CT9 was always used in Madeira. While residents used and still use CT3 callsigns, CT9 was used for special callsigns until 10 or so years back when guest operators under CEPT licensing have to sign CT9/homecall.

Back in 2012 I was part of CR3L CQ WW RTTY team from the QTH of late Walter, DJ6QT. Outside of contest I operated as CT9/E73Y. My Madeira Is. images are here: https://www.e73y.ba/madeira-is-2012/
