How's this for $15.00?
CONGRATS ON CATCHING
THE TROOPS SOUND ASLEEP
ON EBAY .
WHAT TYPE OF A KEY IS IT AND DOES
THE KEY HAVE ANY MARKINGS STAMPED
73 - K1LKP
And this one wasn't bad for $19.99 shipped. It should clean up nicely. It has no markings at all.
Of course, the sad subtitle to all of this is that us Morse guys are slowly dying off, and the market for such devices diminishes every year
LKP: The box says it's a Signal Electric model R-62. Stamped into the key base are these words:
SIGNAL ELECTRIC MFG. CO.
It has the big super-duty contacts like they would have used with a spark transmitter, although I think this key was made long after spark was out of vogue.
I am going to really really, absolutely make your day turn into an early Christmas,....
You can find a deal now and then .. I recently got this one on eBay for $27 shipped .... 1881 solid base bunnell key. I have the missing binding post screws to make it complete.. These are pretty rare ...
WOW ! That key had a lot of use ! - You can see where the thumb & two fingers wore off the knob ! (THAT operator was right-handed) If only it could talk ! Oh, WAIT ! It can
Oh yeah.. and it will ... I Love making old keys like that sing again...
P.S. Steve, I'm still using that Bunnell DSK you sold me...
