I'm gona say but one thing hubnet is not true amateur radio. When you use a non amateur means ie the Internet to transport the content it makes a mockery out of the hobby. Might as well use instagram or zello and what is it with radio amateurs happily using i phones or tablets on wi fi frequencies to link into their computer generating gate ways, that's not amateur radio go on prove me wrong I dare you. 73

I never even heard of this, but now I have. It is one of the 1001 voip backend modes. I can't see how it is any more or less obnoxious than any of the thousand other versions of this. People who dislike this mode can just not use it.

I'm not going to be able to prove you wrong. Why? Because I've got to the point where when I see the words "is not ham radio," I immediately stop reading. End of story, game over, zip up your fly. ;)

Lets see just offa the top of my head:

    Remote HF operations
    Rental stations
    Web SDR
    DMR - Brandmeister, MARC etc.
    Statewide emergency nets
    Some SSTV operations
Phone patches ( ancient times )
Delivering NTS traffic by telephone or in person

Listen to all them mocking birds.

You can't hear them if your Internet is down.

    No kidding .

I just worked South Africa on 17M SSB. That was cool.. I didnt use the internet except to transmit the QSL records - I hope
sending electronic QSL's instead of paper is not vile abnoxious ( sic )

Once I get someone in Nauru to answer I'll have WAZ on my iPhone.

    "Statewide emergency nets".

Where? Here in NC, our statewide emergency net meets on 3923kHz at 1930L. That's a frequency, not an IP address.
