    Hey Frank--

    Just a reality check.

Go to google and look up '411' on the Zed.

See if you can find anyone here who has used '411' --with your meaning-- previously.

My search came up with an "empty set".

Looks like you are confusing audiences. I am hardly, it would seem, out of touch within this community by not being schooled in said slang.

Have a great Hanukkah! Time to get LIT!

    Addendum--

Its important to take a look at the ARRL's 'ON THE AIR' magazine--really addresses a number of concerns for those just starting out. USEFUL info without 'dumbing down'.

Goes 'digital' on internet in a couple of weeks. (Early Jan 2020).

The truth about the ARRL is they are a self serving, self promoting organization. As for the Parity Bill it was a huge fund raiser for the league. The Kevin Spacey movie 'Casino Jack' (2010) is on point. The big one is when Spacey as Jack Abramoff loses a key vote in the house. The secretary breaks the news and the office celebrates. The vote was close enough the fight went on and Jack Abramoff charged millions more for another vote.

Other big money making issue with the league was ARES. I'm still not sure if ARES is an organization or simply a "registry?" The way it appears to me each volunteer is not to an ARES volunteer but a volunteer to the "served agency." With the league not accepting any responsibility, liability or protections. Never understood why a list of registered volunteers needs a command structure and statistics of volunteer activity to other organizations.
